construction process 

The construction process involves measuring and cutting the materials, assembling the pieces, and adding the hinges. Each step                                                                       ensures the jewelry box is sturdy and functional.

First start by cutting the front, back and side panels to the correct length and use a cordless router to create the dovetail joints. 

WHS: hold cordless router with two hands, ensure rebate attachment is tightened firmly and do not loosen or tighten with battery still in.  

Once completed glue joints together and clamp. ensure joints are aligned properly. 

WHS: use a wet rag to clean up any spilled glue. 

Then, cut two pieces of wood to the same size for the lid and drill holes at the ends to insert dowels for joining.

WHS: ensure drill bit is tight and secure, hold drill with two hands when using. 

next glue the pieces together to form the main base of the lid.

WHS: use a rag to clean up spilled glue. 

measure the lid to fit the inside of the jewellry box.

using the raised panel machine, turn the lid into a raised panel.

WHS: earmuffs, keep fingers away from machine. 

Next cut out frames to fit raised panel. 

WHS: keep fingers away from tenon saw when using to cut frames. 

insert frames into raised panel and Glue pieces together. 

WHS: use a wet rag to wipe and spilled glue. 

using a cordless router, create the rebate joint for your base

WHS: hold cordless router with two hands, ensure rebate attachment is tightened firmly and do not loosen or tighten with battery still in.  

cut out the base to fit using band saw. 

WHS: keep fingers away from saw and turn off machine after you are finished cutting. 

attach lid using glue and small nails. 

WHS: start with light force when hitting nails until nail is fully connected to wood to ensure you don't injure your fingers. 

Mark out and attach hinges for the lid. 

attach base trims. 

Use laser engraving machine to engrave your own personal image. 

WHS: do not touch laser
